Each year, The Waves donates to local communities and sports, including local businesses, organisations and individual beneficiaries, as well as staff training and development and non-affiliated sporting and community organisations.

2021/2022 Socio-Economic Contributions

During the 2021/2022 financial year, The Waves:

  • Donated a total of $1,681,497 to local communities and sports, including local businesses, organisations, and individual beneficiaries. 
  • Spent a total of $142,650 in staff training and development.
  • Donated $1,047,180 to The Waves' sixteen Sub Clubs.
  • Donated $90,258 to non-affiliated sporting organisations. 
  • Donated $401,409 to non-affiliated community organisations.

2020/2021 Socio-Economic Contributions

During the 2020/2021 financial year The Waves:

  • Donated a total of $1,126,113 to local communities and sport, including local business, organisations, and individual beneficiaries. 
  • Spent a total of $78,867 in staff training and development.
  • Donated $754,528 to The Waves' sixteen Sub Clubs.
  • Donated $44,211 to non-affiliated sporting organisations. 
  • Donated $248,507 to non-affiliated community organisations.

  • Donated a total of $1,363,168 to local communities and sport, including local business, organisations, and individual beneficiaries. 
  • Spent a total of $101,650 in staff training and development.
  • Donated $875,749 to The Waves sixteen Sub Clubs.
  • Donated $40,525 to non-affiliated sporting organisations. 
  • Donated $362,444 to non-affiliated community organisations. 
  • Spent $18,800 on its Staff Bursary Program.

During the 2017/2018 financial year The Waves:

  • Donated a total of over $1.43M to local communities and sport, including over 120 local business, organisations, and individual beneficiaries. 
  • Spent a total of over $87,000 in staff training and development.
  • Supplied a total of $284,000 in free music and entertainment.
  • Donated $1.03M to The Waves sixteen Sub Clubs.
  • Donated $62,000 to non-affiliated sporting organisations. 
  • Donated $342,000 to non-affiliated community organisations. 
  • Spent $24,000 on its Staff Bursary Program.

2017/2018 Socio-Economic Contributions

During the 2017/2018 financial year The Waves donated:

  • Over $1.2M in cash and in-kind donations.
  • $717,416 directly to its fifteen Sub Clubs.
  • $33,199 donated to non-affiliated sporting clubs. 
  • $513,645 to 105 non-affiliated community organisations, businesses, and individuals including local schools, hospitals, and health centres. 

The Waves also supported its 87 staff this year with over $32,000 in training and development and over $17,000 in the Staff Bursary Program.

2016/2017 Socio-Economic Contributions 

Proudly during the 2016/2017 financial year The Waves Sports Club:

  • Reinvested $7.6M back into the local community, which included contributions to over 120 local individuals and organisations plus the support of local businesses through the purchase of goods, services, meat, fruit and vegetables.
  • The Waves employed 83 local employees who received over $78,000 in training and development and $23,300 through the ongoing staff bursary program.
  • Injected $1.3M directly into the local community.
  • $744,579 donated in continued support of The Waves 15 affiliated Sub Clubs
  • $71,238 donated  towards non-affiliated sporting organisations.

From these efforts The Waves was recognised as the Clubs Queensland 2018 Club of the Year, Best Community Service by a Licensed Club Large, Best Social Club, Best Multi-Sports Club, Club Director of the Year, and for the eighth consecutive year, Best Club Wide Bay.

2015/2016 Socio-Economic Contributions 

During the 2015/16 financial year The Waves:

  • Donated $1.23M to over 150 local individuals, businesses, and organisations.
  • Paid over $3.6M in state taxes.
  • Spent over $90,000 in the development and training of its people, with $30,000 spent on staff incentives and rewards.
  • Donated $450,000 to non-affiliated sporting and community organisations.
  • Donated over $730,000 on its fifteen affiliated sporting Sub Clubs.

With this level of community contribution and support it is little wonder why The Waves was once again Best Community Organisation in 2017.
